Another Reason To Write

It is time. I have thought about this for ages and talk my self out of it every single time. Blogging about my thoughts, feelings and anime would never be relatable. I stated on Tumblr with my platform Anime Mental but quickly lost myself to work, responsibilities and other writing I had at the time. Who cares about my opinions on mental health and anime? Probably not a lot of people, so why bother posting, right?

After a year of ups and down and all arounds, I decided to create a this blog to write about two things I love: Anime and Mental Health. Anime has gotten me through some pretty crap times for most of my life, as well as put me through a lot of crap most of my life. Weird how things you love can be a blessing and a curse.

For me, anime is not an obsession. I do not obsess over a show or character or the art itself. However, I love it enough to be a dedicated anime watcher, know way more than the average bear and am dedicating some of my body to showcase my love for anime through tattoos. I have three already and boy, am I ready for more.

Then we have mental health. I have a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Art Therapy. After almost four years in the filed, I know a bit about mental health and how the brain works. Please note: I am not here to be a therapist to anyone or replace professional help. This is a hobby blog where I spew my thoughts and feelings. It is NOT and should NEVER be a replacement for real, professional help if you are experiencing a mental health crisis or if you require treatment.

These posts may have spoilers about a show and I will put disclaimers on all posts. So, if you want, grab a seat, buckle up and join me on this journey on correlating mental health to anime and weird connections and opinions I have about the two.

Anyways, first anime up: Kuroko no Basuke or The Basketball Which Kuroko Plays. Or, Kuroko’s Basketball for english dub.

Read about it in the next post: Why Kuroko No Basuke Changed My Life
